I volunteer in a woodland to learn new skills and to understand the ecosystem in Britain. The Woodland Trust and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust provide advice to help increase wildlife and restore the Ancient woodland with native plants.

I have also put up a camera in the woods overlooking a small stream and a badger den. I caught a badger on the camera on the first day showing it is a well used area.

I have also seen a Reeves pheasant, muntjac deer and a stag so far.

I made a dead wall digging holes for posts then laying cut branches in between to create an area where I can put a tarp up if it rains. I also helped to build a fire pit to cook on and keep warm.

My next plan is to clear out a gully so the stream doesn’t change direction as its blocked. It is diverting underground in an old badger set.
