I went up to the woods on 9th January to give the storm kettle a try, lighting it with a flint and steel.

it’s interesting because you don’t have to have an open fire when it’s raining or difficult weather conditions to have a good old cup of British tea!
Inside the kettle there is an area for the fire and the kettle is a jacket around it which you put the water in. The bottom bowl is where you build the fire. I used wood, twigs, paper and cotton wool for the materials.
To light it I used a flint and steel which was highly effective as the wool was very flammable. You rub the flint and steel together to create sparks to light.

Sadly the camera I had put up didn’t work so no luck on the wildlife photos!
